India Must Step Back to Ease Tensions – Pakistan’s Information Minister Ata Tarar

Islamabad (Capital Nama): Federal Information Minister Ata Tarar has firmly stated that India initiated the recent escalation and must now take the first step to de-escalate if regional peace is to be restored.

In an interview with international media, Tarar emphasized Pakistan’s responsible conduct, stating, “Pakistan is a responsible state. We did not target civilian populations, whereas India deliberately attacked innocent civilians—even targeting its own area of Amritsar.”

Referring to the Pahalgam incident, he clarified, “Pakistan had no involvement whatsoever. We even offered joint investigations. Pahalgam is 200 kilometers away from our territory.”

Tarar noted that Pakistan responded strictly in accordance with international law. “Our counteraction was conducted under the UN Charter. We exercised our right to self-defense and targeted only military installations.”

He further assured the public and the international community, saying, “All of Pakistan’s strategic assets remain completely secure. Pakistan retains every right to defend itself against aggression.”
