Chicken Prices Soar in Karachi as Authorities Fail to Control Poultry Mafia

Karachi – Even after Ramadan and Eid, chicken prices in Karachi remain high, with meat selling for Rs850 per kg—well above the official rate of Rs650 set by the Karachi Commissioner.

Live chicken is being sold for Rs500 to Rs550 per kg, while the approved price is Rs420. Despite efforts by authorities, sellers continue to overcharge, making chicken unaffordable for many people.

The ongoing price hike has sparked frustration among citizens, as profiteers remain unchecked and the cost of basic food items stays high after the festive season.
