After days of heavy rains in Karachi, uncertainty continues over the reopening of schools as private institutions shift to online classes while the Sindh Education Department has yet to make a clear decision regarding government schools.
Many private schools in the city announced that they would conduct online classes on Friday instead of resuming physical learning. School administrators cited flooded streets, damaged infrastructure, and safety concerns for students and teachers as reasons behind the move. Jinnah Sindh Medical University also confirmed that its academic activities will remain suspended on Friday, with all classes being shifted online.

The Sindh Education Department, however, remains undecided about reopening government schools. Just a day earlier, the department had announced a citywide closure of all public and private educational institutions due to continuous rainfall and waterlogging.
Meanwhile, light to moderate showers continued in different parts of Karachi, including Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Quaidabad, Malir, Model Colony, Nazimabad, Bhains Colony, Shah Latif Town, North Nazimabad, SITE Area, Metro, and Tower. While the weather has turned pleasant, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned of possible urban flooding in low-lying areas as more rainfall, thunder, and lightning are expected in the next few hours.
Authorities have advised citizens to stay cautious and directed emergency services to remain on high alert as the city continues to face rain-related disruptions.
