Petrol Price Stays the Same, Diesel Becomes Cheaper

The federal government has announced the new prices of petroleum products, which will be effective from September 1, 2025, for the next 15 days. The latest adjustment brings some relief for consumers as a few products have seen price cuts, while others remain unchanged.

According to the official notification from the Ministry of Finance, the price of petrol will stay the same at Rs264.61 per litre. However, the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs3 per litre, and the new rate now stands at Rs269.99 per litre.

Kerosene oil has also seen a small decrease of Rs1.46 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs176.81 per litre. Similarly, the price of light diesel oil has been cut by Rs2.40 per litre, and it will now be sold at Rs159.76 per litre.

These revised prices will remain in effect for the first half of September 2025. Fuel price changes in Pakistan are usually reviewed every 15 days, depending on international oil rates and the value of the Pakistani rupee. The latest revision is expected to slightly ease the financial burden on people, especially those relying on diesel and light diesel for transport and business purposes.
