Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced its candidates for two key constituencies in Punjab ahead of the upcoming by-elections. The party’s political committee confirmed that Ain Ahmad will contest from NA-66 Wazirabad, while Munazza Fatima has been nominated for PP-87 Mianwali. Both candidates will be backed by the PTI in the electoral race.
The committee said that the names for the remaining seats will be finalized soon, and a comprehensive decision on the by-elections will also be shared with the party’s founder, Imran Khan, in the coming days. During the meeting, the committee strongly condemned the arrest of Aleema Khan’s sons, calling it an unjust move.
According to the party, Imran Khan has advised that the nomination of opposition leaders should be postponed until all legal procedures are completed. However, if the party faces legal setbacks, senior leaders Mahmood Achakzai and Azam Swati will be considered for the positions of opposition leaders.
The announcement of candidates highlights PTI’s preparation for the by-elections and reflects the party’s strategy to strengthen its political presence in Punjab. The coming days are expected to bring more clarity on PTI’s complete list of candidates and its plans for the by-elections.
