US President Donald Trump has accused Chinese President Xi Jinping of working with Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un against the United States. His remarks came as Beijing staged its largest-ever Victory Day military parade to mark the 80th anniversary of Japan’s surrender in World War II. The event at Tiananmen Square was attended by 26 world leaders, with Xi, Putin, and Kim seen together in what many analysts described as a symbolic show of defiance toward the West.
In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump wrote: “Please give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un as you conspire against the United States of America.” He also reminded followers of American sacrifices during World War II, saying many soldiers had died in China’s fight for victory and deserved to be remembered with honor.

Despite his sharp comments, Trump rejected claims that China was trying to build an anti-US coalition. Speaking to the BBC, he said: “No. Not at all. China needs us. I have a very good relationship with President Xi… but China needs us much more than we need them.”

In another interview, Trump dismissed the idea of a new “axis” between Russia and China, stressing that the US military remained the strongest in the world and would deter any aggression. However, he admitted being “very disappointed” in Putin after their Alaska meeting failed to produce progress on ending the war in Ukraine. Trump hinted that Washington would soon take steps to support Ukrainians but gave no details.
China has so far avoided criticizing Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and has faced accusations from Western governments of indirectly aiding Moscow through oil trade and the sale of dual-use goods, which Beijing denies. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Russia was carrying out a new troop build-up along parts of the frontline, saying Putin “refuses to be forced into peace.”
