Washington (Capital Nama) – A new trend called “SkinnyTok” is becoming popular on TikTok, where users share ways to lose a lot of weight in a very short time. However, health experts have warned that this trend can be dangerous and may lead young people toward poor nutrition and unhealthy habits.
According to Fox News, Dr. Brett Osborn, a neurosurgeon from Florida, said extreme weakness can lead to serious problems like weak bones and reduced brain function. He added that being underweight is not a sign of being healthy — true health is shown by strong muscles.

Dr. Jillian Lampert from the Emily Program in Minnesota said this trend encourages unhealthy weight loss among young people. She warned that social media algorithms can make the problem worse by showing more of this kind of content.
Dr. Anastasia Ray-Ray, a family physician from Tennessee, said lack of nutrition can cause irregular heartbeats and even increase the risk of heart attacks. She advised that food should be seen as a source of energy, not an enemy, and encouraged focusing on real-world positive activities instead of harmful trends on social media.
Experts say if someone shows signs of an eating disorder, they should see a doctor immediately, as treatment is possible.
