Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan has come under legal scrutiny after reports surfaced about her purchase of agricultural land in Alibaug, Maharashtra.
According to Indian media, Suhana recently bought a plot worth ₹12.91 crore in Thal village, Alibaug. The land was originally reserved by the government for farming use. Reports state that the property was purchased from three sisters — Anjali, Rekha, and Priya — who had inherited it from their parents. Suhana allegedly paid a stamp duty of ₹77.46 lakh during the transaction.

Concerns have been raised because, in the registered documents, Suhana was listed as a farmer, which has sparked questions about the legality of the purchase. The land is reportedly registered under Deja Vu Farm Pvt Ltd, a company owned by Suhana’s grandmother (Gauri Khan’s mother) and her aunt. Authorities are now investigating whether rules that restrict non-farmers from buying agricultural land in Maharashtra were bypassed.
Resident Deputy Collector Sandesh has directed the Alibag Tehsildar to prepare an impartial report on the matter.
Reports also suggest that this was not Suhana’s only investment in the area. Within a year, she purchased another beachfront property worth ₹10 crore, bringing her total land investment in Alibaug to around ₹22 crore in 2023–24.
The case has raised questions about how celebrity land purchases are handled in restricted zones and whether the laws regarding agricultural property ownership were followed. Officials are reviewing the transactions, and a decision will be made once the inquiry is complete.
